Impact is the Pharo similar a pack of cards, which is played with 32 sheets of doubleGerman maps. It is particularly, although a forbidden gambling popular in the Viennese red light environment.

A player, the so-called "“Bankerer"” holds the bank; as many as desired players (the so-called "“gallery"”) set against him.

E.g. as the first map if a king is pulled and as the second figure eight, then all employments on "“K"” lose and all employments on "“8"” win in the relationship 1:1; the employments on the remaining values remain unchanged.

Then the bank the employments wins traps in a departure two of equal standing maps, thus e.g. two waiters, to this value.

If a player won, then he made "“a cut"”.

After 14 departures remain still three maps, which does not become so-called "“stick"” remaining, it no more used; the maps are mixed and a new portion begin.

- the "“Saugerl"”, which borrows to usurious interests money to the players, and

- the "“Schmierer"”, the Aufpasser before the police.

The impact play is very similar to the Pharo from the rules, the differences (wins 32 sheets instead of 52 sheets, bank with departure of two of equal standing maps the full employment) is however substantial: the advantage of the bank amounts to with the impact 9.7% with the Pharo however only 2.9%.

Contrary to the elegant Pharo, a preferential pastime of the aristocracy in 18. and 19. Century was, enjoys the impact play very a bad reputation.

The Stuss or Jewish Faro played in the USA is identical according to the rules, it however French instead of doubleGerman maps is used.
