KENO is a gambling, which originally originates from the Empire of China. It was introduced for the financing of the Chinese wall.

The prototype of the Keno play was invented before nearly 2,200 years by the Chinese Cheung Leung. Instead of numbers a selection from 120 Chinese characters had to be guessed at that time. The results were brought from letter pigeons into villages removed far. The play was therefore called the "“white pigeon play"”. Beginning 20. Century brought it Chinese workers into the USA. Today it is played in different variants in the whole world. KENO came via the USA now also to Germany. It is played at present in all Lands of the Federal Republic except Saxonia-Anhalt.

From 70 numbers 20 is drawn, the player can tap up to 10 numbers. To the employment of 1, to 2, 5 or 10 euro a profit up to 1.000.000 euro is allotted after firm ratios (with 10 euro employment and 10 correct tapping numbers). The chances for the maximum gain are thereby substantially better than with Lotto - 1:2.147,179 with KENO (10 correct ones) compared with 1:13.983,816 (6 correct ones with Lotto 6 from 49).

A characteristic from KENO is that the player wins also if he no correct number - from 9 or 10 selected! - tapped. Then it receives the double of its employment back.

The drawings take place daily except Sundays over approx. 18:30 clock and only in the hessian broadcast HR (TV) are radiated. The drawing equipment been based on a again developed computer system, which determines the numbers by means of two independently working random number generators. The drawings take place in the areas of the Lotterie trust company ltd. Hessen in Wiesbaden and are public.
