The Schlesi Lotterie, also Kartenlotterie or is a simple gambling, which is played with two packages to 32 sheets (of German or French) Spielkarten.

The following description originates from Meyers encyclopedia from 1889 (in original Orthographie, notes of the author are italically set).

"Lotterie is called also a popular maintenance gambling with maps. Each fellow player takes itself from the 32 sheets of a German map or several (usually 2) and gives to the bank owner per sheet a certain employment. With a second map (is meant: from a second package) then the bank owner procures a taking from 9 sheets off in such a way that 4 pairs are put among themselves; the ninth sheet is the "large the matter" (drawing 1. - 5. Class). For each map of the first pair the banker has the simple, for everyone of the second pair the double, for everyone of the third pair the three-way to pay for each of the fourth pair the quadruple and for the large lot the ninefold employment. To everyone the players their maps can change such route, during the banker the pulled sheets again interfere and blow employments pull."

Bank advantage: If the bank owner can sell all 32 lots at the price of e.g. 1 "€, then it takes 32 "€ and must altogether 2x1 + 2x2 + 2x3 + 2x4 + 1x9 = 29 "€ at profits disburse, i.e. the bank owner remains a profit of 3 "€, i.e. 9.375% of all employments.
