The World Poker route or WPT is briefly a meeting of a commercial enterprise. This organizes Poker tournaments, particularly according to the rules of Texas Hold' em. It was by its television transmissions considerably involved in the Poker boom of the last years, particularly in the range of on-line Casinos. This development is not amazing, since also on-line Casinos rank among the main sponsors of the WPT.

Inspired of the WSOP are also most tournaments of the WPT similarly structured: Each player gets the same value at chips at the beginning, then over several days one plays, until the winner is certain. This receives generally 30-35% of prize money, the Zweitplatzierte approx. to 20%.

History

• 2002 - Establishment of the company by Stephen Lipscomp, which is now a president of the WPTE (World Poker route Enterprises).
• 2003 - WPT Championship in the Bell agio Casino in read Vegas.
• 2004 - Television transmission of a WPT of tournament, the "“Battle OF champion"” on NBC. Establishment "“mill OF Fame"”.

Winner

Each Event of one season makes possible for the participants to collect points. At the end of the season the "“player of the yearly"” is then certain.
