The World Series OF Poker or WSOP is briefly a set of Pokerturnieren, which read each year in Vegas is delivered. The main tournament, a NO limit Texas Hold'em tournament with $10.000 employment per player is the Pokerturnier at all, so that the winner is often called Pokerweltmeister.

History

• 1970 participated seven players to the WSOP and the winners still from the fellow players to the world champion was at that time selected.
• Starting from 1971 tournaments were then always played.
• The fact that the Haupttunier was won 2003 and 2004 by amateurs provided, who qualified themselves on a on-line Poker side, for a Pokerboom.
• In the year 2005 there were 45 different tournaments. The Haupttunier had 5619 participants and the winners won $7.500.000.

Winner

• Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan have both 10 Tuniere each won, among them two each times the Haupttunier.
• Most money altogether won Joseph Hachem, although it won only one tournament (the Haupttunier 2005)
• First German-speaking winner of a WSOP of tournament was Matthias Rohnacher from Heidelberg in the variant Pot limit Omaha in the year 1997. Before it it occupied Omaha High Low Split in each case the 2 however already in the variant. Place in the years 1994 and 1996.
